External caster and rover accounts
Understand subscriptions and concurrent connections
Two separate limits matter: upstream external-caster capacity per mountpoint and the number of rovers allowed to use one local credential.
One external mountpoint
One upstream subscription and credential may serve several authorized rovers requesting the same mountpoint. XYZRVB shares that relay among the local sessions.
Several simultaneous mountpoints
Each different mountpoint opens a separate upstream connection. If the external caster forbids simultaneous connections using the same credential, three open mountpoints require three credentials or subscriptions. When reuse is allowed, the same access may serve several points within the provider’s terms.
Quota per rover credential
When creating the account, the administrator chooses how many rovers may use that credential simultaneously. Every connection appears as a separate session in the control center.
Recommended identification
For unambiguous equipment attribution, create one credential per rover and set its limit to 1. The account name then becomes the rover’s operational identity.
